Some features of the prosecutor’s supervision of the implementation of laws on countering extremist and terrorist activities have been identified as the most important area of prosecutor’s supervision of the implementation of laws. It has been revealed that prosecutors have at their disposal a wide range of powers in the field under consideration, provided for by various federal laws that are effectively used by prosecutors. It has been established that through the exercise of the prosecutor’s powers in the field of countering extremism and terrorism, the national security of the Russian Federation is ensured. It is emphasized that in the context of a special military operation conducted by the Russian Federation, activities to counter extremism and terrorism are becoming particularly important. At the same time, the existence of problematic issues of prosecutorial supervision in this area has been established. Proposals have been developed to improve prosecutorial supervision in the field of enforcement of laws on countering extremism and terrorism, which will increase the effectiveness of the Prosecutor’s office in countering extremist and terrorist activities.
