The article examines the main approaches to the periodization of the history of the prosecutor’s office in Russia. An analysis of the development of views on periodization of history of development of prosecutor’s office in pre-revolutionary, Soviet and modern legal science has been carried out. The necessity of using an integrated approach to the definition of stages of periodization of history of formation and development of transport prosecutor’s office in Russia is justified. A new periodicity of the history of development of transport procuratorates in Russia is proposed.
