This article analyzes a sociological survey of first-year university students at the Far Eastern Federal University School of Law on their future career choices. It presents some characteristics of students who have chosen a legal career. Emphasis is placed on the current education system, comparing it with past experience, and forecasting the future development of higher legal education in Russia. The article analyzes the characteristics of legal education and the legal profession as a whole. A study is conducted of the internal motivations of young people in choosing their future profession, as well as the reasons and conditions that contributed to their choice. Special attention is paid to the analysis of attitudes toward higher education at a law school. It is concluded that, overall, the process of obtaining higher legal education is at an adequate level, but is constantly undergoing transformation and modernization. The results of this sociological study can be used to improve the educational process in the field of "Jurisprudence"
